Anne-Marie Hirmer
Her work challenges conventional notions of knitting by exploring knitted textiles as active, three-dimensional structures rather than flat surfaces or garments.
With a strong background in the textile and fashion industry, she works at the intersection of fashion, architecture, and nature.
She transfers design principles and structural solutions from apparel into new contexts, dissolving the boundaries between body and space and exploring how textiles can extend beyond their traditional applications.
Nature is a central source of inspiration and research in her practice. Drawing on biological structures, growth processes, and movement, she investigates how natural principles can inform the development of new textile forms.
