Anne-Marie Hirmer
She redefines the possibilities of knitted textiles by transforming them into active structures that challenge traditional notions of knitting. Nature is a major source of inspiration for her work.
With a strong background in the textile and fashion industry, she explores the intersection of fashion, architecture, and nature. She translates design principles and solutions from apparel into new contexts, dissolving the boundaries between body and space while unlocking new possibilities for textiles beyond their traditional applications.
Inspired by biological structures, growth, and movement, she explores how nature can inform new forms of knitted textiles. Her work translates these natural principles into three-dimensional, self-supporting textile structures that combine technological innovation, architectural thinking, and artistic expression.
