Exploring knitted structures, yarns, colors, and forms through digital design methodologies.
This exploration expands the potential of 3D product development from fashion design to knitted textiles, applied within the context of furniture and interior design.
A comprehensive design and development process was established, beginning with the exploration of various stitch and pattern constructions and extending to the creation of custom-designed yarns. Based on these yarn developments, multiple colorways were generated.
In the next stage, three-dimensional forms were designed in Rhino and subsequently imported into ApexFiz (Shima Seiki 3D Knit Software). Within this environment, pattern pieces were developed specifically for the defined geometries, and the complete system—custom textile, pattern, and 3D form—was digitally simulated.
This integrated workflow enables a fast, energy-efficient, and resource-conscious design process, demonstrating applications that extend beyond the fashion industry.
